A delightful 2 day workshop

Life's circumstances changed last week's advanced workshop into a small introductory class. Since there were only 3 people, each person took their own path, with my help and created unique work. Since I had everything ready for the advanced workshop, even some of the transfers I had prepared could be used.

Beth's day in the studio

Beth had taken my introductory workshop a few months ago and wanted a private class to work on a special gift for her step daughter. Beth had the paper wedding invitation, 4 1/2 inches by 7 inches, She brought the invitation over yesterday so we could glue it to a prepared board and let it dry overnight. Today we worked with lots of encaustic layers, oil glazes, hot pen and stenciling. the 3D flowers are encaustic. We matched the colors from the brides bouquet. The main board was then adhered to a cradled board that had oil stain, encaustic and more stenciling. This will make a lovely, lasting gift.

I am flattered

Colleen from Minnesota has been visiting San Miguel for almost 3 weeks. We had a lovely day together for her private encaustic class. We covered many techniques including, incising, oil glazes, transfers, burnt shellac, scraping, oil pencil and most importantly Colleen used the torch for the first time. The torch seemed natural to her even though she had previously only used the heat gun.

In a private class we can really focus and also get to know one another. I asked Coleen what had brought her to San Miguel, and she said, "You." She had read my memoir, bought my online classes and wanted to experience a class with me as will as well as spend some time in this beautiful, unique town of San Miguel de Allende.

I don't think this will be her only trip here.

I had so much fun in last week's workshop that I decided that I am ready to offer introductory workshops again. I've had my break to do my own work and now ready to share again.

The dates for the December workshops are 9 & 10 of December - Intro and 12 & 13 Advanced techniques.

See the side bar for details.
