Advanced workshop, Feb 10 & 11

Carole
I hate to see some workshop end, and this was one of them. These talented women were enthusiastic and open to experiment and share. I learn a few more encaustic possibilites from
Judy Wise who teaches workshops also and her book Plaster Studio is available as a pre-publishing order from Amazon. check out her blog:http://judywise.blogspot.com/

"Talk about coming with great expectations...and then having them exceeded!"

 What a great compliment!
We just finished the first day of the advanced workshop. I did lots of demos and then the artists took off on their own to paint and experiment. I look forward to seeing what will be produced tomorrow.

It was another beautiful day in San Miguel and the artists in the workshop had the feel of the propane torch and were free to see where the encaustic technique could take them. Two of them will be back Thursday to join another 3 artists in the advanced technique workshop. Carole is working on a larger multiple piece and I'll photograph her Friday when the next class is over.

first day of introductory workshop

Everyone was enthusiastic and ready to play (experiment) with encaustic.

This is the demo I did - lots of layers. I think I'll do more carving in it.
